Jumping on the trampoline? Out of the question!
Watching my favourite comedy film and laughing from start to finish? Better muffle those laughs!
Got to sneeze or cough? Best run to the loo before even contemplating letting it out!
I finally realised something needed to be done when one evening I decided to hide behind the sofa and 'scare' the kids with a dinosaur roar and a chase around the living room. Except they took a while to come downstairs and I was starting to need the loo! Did I get up from my hiding place and go straight to the toilet? Did I heck! I thought I could hold it for 5 minutes, so less than 2 minutes later when they started down the stair's I prepared myself to scare! The time came to 'roar;' at them and as I did, it happened. I wet myself. Me, a 32 year old Mum, wet my pants! I hadn't even needed the toilet for 2 minutes, that is when I knew it was time to do something about it.
Now, it has always been a joke between me and Dean that I 'wee myself a bit', but going to the doctor about it kind of doesn't come easy, it's embarrassing and let's face it a bit of a taboo subject. Which is why when a couple of weeks later an email dropped in my inbox to review the INNOVO Non-Invasive Urinary Incontinence Treatment, I still hadn't made a doctors appointment so I decided to reply to the email and as luck would have it I was chosen as one of the reviewers.
What is INNOVO and how does it work?
INNOVO, is a non-invasive way to restore your pelvic floor, treating the primary cause of urinary leaks rather than just masking the symptoms. Using a hand held controller that is attached to a two part garment, Innovotherapy sends targeted impulses via a set of conductive pads (attached to your upper thigh and buttocks) to safely and effectively activate all the muscles of the pelvic floor or to calm your bladder. It is a proven technology which has been designed to optimally strengthen your pelvic floor with 180 perfect contractions per session, allowing the device to do your pelvic floor exercises for you.
Innovotherapy, already used by thousands of women, and 93% of users found a significant improvement after 4 weeks, 86% of users were defined as dry or near dry after 12 weeks and a massive 90% of users would recommend the therapy to others. With these success rates in mind you can see it it was definitely worth a try.
INNOVO recommend you use the equipment for 5 days a week over 12 weeks, slowly increasing intensity as you feel necessary. The optimum intensity to reach is between 70-75 (or higher if you feel you need to).
I personally started at 25 but after about a week and a half I had got up to 50. INNOVO say that the intense feeling shouldn't ever hurt and if it does you should go back down a little and try again after a few days. after around 4 weeks I had reached 65 and I stuck with around 70-80 for the rest of the 12 week treatment time and it was never painful, you could just feel the contractions. After the 12 week period is up INNOVO recommend you continue to use the treatment once or twice a week to keep your pelvic floor strong.
Is it worth the price tag?
OK, so I'm not going to lie the price tag of £249 is a pretty hefty one, but let me tell you it is worth every single penny! 12 weeks ago I was hiding my laughs, crossing my legs when I sneezed (damn hayfever!), and watching my kids play at our weekly bouncy castle stay and play from the sidelines. This summer though? I'm the Mum bouncing with the kids, I'm going to sneeze without the fear of leaking, I'm not going to have chase my kids through the front door for the toilet anymore, and me and Dean have booked to go and see one of our favourite comedians, something we have wanted to do for ages! And we have even ordered a trampoline for the garden!
INNOVO is priced at £249, payable in one go or via 5 installments of £41.50, find out more about INNOVO here: www.restorethefloor.com.
