Activity Time. Cat In The Hat Pom Pom Sensory Bin

The monsters are currently CRAZY about The Cat In The Hat, we watch the movie every day...sometimes twice! So I thought for half term week we would have some Cat In The Hat fun! I've planned something for every day including this easy to put together sensory bin...

What You Need:
Red pom poms
White pom poms
Ice cream pots (we got these red and white stripy ones from Poundland's pirate party selection)
Pegs (to use as tweezers)
Scoops

I made this sensory bin quite a simple one after the busyness of our last sensory bin. I had seen some printable do a dot sheet's on Pinterest and knew they would work perfectly for little fingers and pom poms instead, then I went about purchasing some children's plastic tweezers when I came across some loose pegs in our bits and bobs box and so I thought I would use them instead to save some myself some pennies!

After sitting back and watching the monsters with just the sensory bin, I started moulding new language such as red, white, empty, full etc. For Jenson and Evie, I set them tasks like can you fill a pot with red pom poms?

As the week goes on I am going to add some simple sum printables for Jenson and some rhyming word flashcards. I will also add some printable numbers, along with more pots so that Evie can do practice number recognition.

Why not try...

Pin for later...
