Budget Family Meal Plan #50

We started meal planning on and off about 3 or 4 years ago but I have been making regular weekly meal plans for the last 18 months. By planning our meals, making, and sticking to, a shopping list our food shop costs have dropped from £120 a week to around £60-80 a week, which is a great saving in itself yet by also changing the day and time we shop, from a Saturday afternoon to a Friday night, we have reduced our food shop BY HALF again, and so now our shop each week comes to between £30 and £45. I highly recommend heading out to the supermarkets for the end of day yellow sticker bargains if you can, both me and Dean used to turn our nose up at the people hanging around for the reduction's trolley, but how wrong we were! I will get around to writing a post and maybe filming a video to tell you how to shop yellow sticker stuff smartly, I promise!

You can watch my meal planning process on YouTube,  we also share regular grocery hauls, meal ideas and more. Be sure to subscribe if that's your thing!

Last week's menu was, yet again, another fail!  I seem to have fell from the bandwagon...but I am determined to get back on!

I post some of our makes, bakes and meals over on our new foodie based account over on Instagram @feedingmyfamilyforless for a week or so, I also plan on sharing some cook with me and grocery hauls on IGTV too, so please click the follow button if you are on Instagram, it would mean the world!

Any way enough of the gabble, here is this week's meal plan...

Saturday - Out

We are out at a late Halloween party so will eat there.

Sunday - Slow cooker chicken casserole, mash and Yorkshire puddings.

I am adamant to get this in the slow cooker before we leave for football, we are out at football all day and won't be back in until around 4pm, so I really need to make sure I stick to it!

Monday - Crispy chicken wraps and fries

Something quick and easy and will use up the very last of the 'last bits' in the freezer!

Tuesday - Chicken and broccoli fettucine and garlic bread (via Julia's Album)

I saw this recipe on Pinterest and ohhhh it looks sooooo good!!

Wednesday - Slow cooker veggie curry, rice, poppadoms and naan bread

One of my favourite slow cooker recipes, I will get around to share it one day I promise!!

Thursday - Slow cooker jacket potatoes

You know the drill! Thursdays are house is crazy mad, and slow cooker jacket potatoes are the perfect way to feed a crowd quickly!!

Friday - Grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup or wedges

Cheese toasties, the traditional 'American' way. Sooooooo very good, it is something we all enjoy. Me, Dean and Ellie will have it with some tomato soup and the little kids will have it with some wedges.
