Scruff-a-luvs Families

What with it being the middle of summer, the kids have been watching a lot more TV than usual, which means they are seeing more ad's then they usually would, which in turn means that the mental Christmas list has been started, one thing that has been on it for a good few weeks, and keeps getting mentioned time and time again is the Scruff-A-Luvs Families set. So when Worlds Apart/Moose Toys got in touch and asked if we would review the brand new toy at its launch, I couldn't really say no, could I!

Disclaimer: We were sent this to free of charge in return of a honest review, all words, photos and opinions are our own.

Whenever we get toys sent, we have rules and chores to earn the new toys. So far this summer, Jenson has reviewed The Thames and Kosmos Detective Kit and Evie had already reviewed the Nanables last week, so this time it was Elsie's turn. And she was so so excited, she couldn't wait to get inside the box and explore...

I think the thing that enticed the kids by this toy the most was the surprise aspect, I mean surprise toys are everywhere right now aren't they? And the Scruff-A-Luvs Families are stuffed full of surprises!

Will you get a cat or a dog?

Twins or triplets?

Boys or Girls?

And what is hiding behind those 6 doors?

There are full instructions inside the box, which are really easy to follow. So we headed to the kitchen and filled our sink with warm soapy water, you don't have to use bubbly water, but if you do just be sure to rinse in clear water when you are done, to find out the answer to our first 2 questions..

As Elsie headed to the kitchen, it was like she had become the Pied Piper and the other kids followed her in a line to the kitchen and perched themselves around the sink! They were all as equally as excited to find out, cat or dog? Twins, or the very rare, and much wanted in this case, triplets! (Lets just ignore the mess in my kitchen and the awful sink..yes?!)

Tahh dahh...

We had a cat...and her twins!

And the colour changing heart on the tummies told us they were boys! Elsie was ecstatic, she quickly named them Scruffy Pussy (much to my dismay but equally perfect for my humor), Sammie and Catty, I think she ran out of inspiration huh! Next up we moved onto the grooming of our cat (I don;t think I can continue with its official name, sorry!) and we grabbed a hairdryer, the grooming brush and other accessories that Elsie had found under one of the doors.

The instructions state that it will take around 20 minutes for your Scruff-A-Luvs to dry, and I will be honest, those 20 minutes seemed to take forever, and I don't think it looked any less scruffy, compared to the box, but Elsie assured me, that it was called Scruff-A-Luvs and the is because it was supposed to be a bit scruffy! So I mean who knows, but she was happy so I was happy!

Scruff-A-Luvs Families have an RRP of £29.99 and are available from Smyths, The Entertainer, Amazon and other good toy stores.
