Easy Oreo Fudge | Cooking With Kids

This week saw the start of my mini monsters summer holidays, meaning, of course, it was time to get busy making the teachers gift, as they had all been poorly, I didn't get a chance to make what we had originally planned and was thrown in at the deep end to make a gift with less than 24 hours to go! As the teachers seemed to love the gifts of chocolate and candy popsicles at Christmas we decided to go down the food route again with this yummy Oreo Chocolate Fudge.

This is one of the easiest (and yummiest!) recipes EVER! To make your own Oreo fudge you will need:

1 can of sweetened condensed milk
50g unsalted butter
350g milk chocolate
1 packet of Oreo biscuits

Now when I told you this recipe was easy I really meant it! This took less than 10 minutes to make (although unfortunately, you have to wait for it to set so there is no nibbling straight away!) and Jenson and Ellie did some great team-work to get this made quickly, we made this at 8pm the night before the last school day, nothing like last minute, huh!

The first step is to put the condensed milk and butter in a microwave-safe bowl and heat on high, in the microwave, for 2 minutes. Whilst this is happening set about breaking your chocolate into cubes and crush your Oreos, you want big chunks, so don't go too mad and remember to save some WHOLE to top your fudge with.

Once the butter has melted, add the chocolate to the bowl, we did this 1/3 at a time and stir until all the chocolate has melted. Then fold the crushed Oreos into the fudge mix and pour into a greaseproof paper lined tin/square dish (yes ok...we use foil because I couldn't find our greaseproof paper anywhere!), using the back of a spoon smooth down the fudge mix and top with the remaining halved oreos.

Pop in the fridge for 2-4 hours, although we left ours over-night. To keep the fudge at its best store in the fridge in an air tight container.
