Build A Snowman Creation Station.

Last year our little town missed out on all the snow! It seemed like the whole of the UK had now but somehow Skegness missed out completely! This year, thanks to Frozen, all the monsters want to do is build an Olaf snowman unfortunately it doesn't look like we will be getting snow anytime soon so I have set up a mini creation station so they can make some snowmen and a little snowy scene so they can add their snowman to the display...

What You Need:

White card (cut into various sized circles)
Felt Pens and Crayons (black and orange)
Silver glitter
Sticks from the garden
Glue stick

I put all of our items in a chip and dip tray as it kept everything contained and easy to grab. We started by talking about the big, and small circles and I asked Elsie to pick me a big circle and a little circle, before handing her a glue stick and after letting her have a poke about with it and explore it I showed
her how to use it to stick her circles together, when we talked about top and bottom...

Then we explored the glitter...which she loved!

Then we had a play with the pens and as we talked about the colour's I asked her to draw eyes on the snowman's head, then a carrot nose, and a mouth. Then to finish we had another play with the glue and stuck some buttons on.

I love her finished product, I think she did a great job!

Then when the bigger monsters got home from school they enjoyed getting crafty too!

  1. Lovely idea to discuss the circles. Well done Elsie - great job :) #ToddlerApprovedTuesday

  2. Another great winter craft! Pinned :-)

  3. I have yet to met a little one that doesn't love glitter ;)

  4. I LOVE those trays, we use them for all our crafty bits. Elsie is really good at drawing faces, I think that's something Luke and I need to practice, he's good at naming everything but not so good at drawing them. I'll pin for later, Ray xx #toddlerapprovedtuesday

  5. A super cute idea. My girls are Frozen-obsessed, and keep singing 'Do you wanna build a snowman' at the moment! They would love this. I have one of those dishes too, I never thought about using it for crafts but that's a useful idea! #Toddlerapprovedtuesday

  6. I love this. We did it a few years ago with cotton wool pads, easy enough for the younger kids as well. These turned out great :-)

  7. This is such a fab idea, we literally got a dusting of snow at the weekend but no where near enough to build a snowman!! So jealous of everyone's pictures on Instagram. I am sure Monjey would enjoy this as an alternative! Where did you get the little tray from? Thank you for hosting #ToddlerApprovedTuesdsy xx
