Family Meal Plan #26

On the menu this week...

Ok, so although I have been meal planning weekly I am really bad at writing these blog posts. So whilst I promise to try and keep up, if you want to see every meal plan you should pop over and follow us on Instagram, because I definitely share them all there! So lets try this again...here is what we are eating this week....

I have seen a few other blogs do a run down of the previous weeks weeks meal plan and whether they were successful or not, so before we jump into this weeks meal plan here is how last week went:

  • Hulk smash pasta: This has been on our meal plan for 2 weeks now and I still haven't cooked it! I will though, and when I do I will add a recipe, as its just something I came up.
  • Mushroom ragu and cauliflower bake: another one I didn't make.
  • Sticky chinese pork and veggie rice: We didn't have this either!
  • Fakeaway Nandos. Piri Piri wraps, curly fries, corn on the cob and coleslaw: This went down a treat! Definitely will do this again.
  • Mushroom alfredo: I don't know what happened last week but we didn't have this either! We had cheesy pasta instead.
As you can see last week was a great big fail! Must try better this week!

Monday: Slow Cooker Jerk Potato and Black Bean Curry

I have reworked this recipe to work for the slow cooker, and using a DIY jerk spice recipe rather than a pre-bought seasoning.

Tuesday: Fakeaway BBQ Belly Pork Strips, with fries, corn on the cob, breaded garlic mushrooms and onion rings.

I grew up on Delia Smith recipes, my Dad handed down the recipe book to me. But I found this recipe on her website. Cant wait for this one!

Wednesday: Slow cooker 5 a day veggie tagine with fruity cous cous and pitta breads.

This recipe is sat in my drafts...I will aim to get this up as soon as possible (sorry!)

Thursday: Cheesy Baked Mushroom Ravioli in a creamy tomato sauce and garlic bread

I'm blagging this one! I'm going to make my own ravioli (I'm cheating and using some lasagna sheets we have had in the cupboard since approximately the beginning of time!) and stuff them with some mushroom ragu, pop them in a baking dish with a jar of creamy tomato sauce and topped with ricotta and mozzarella. I cant wait...I'm drooling just typing it!

Friday: Fish pie and mixed veg.

Fridays are food shop night, so I will prep this in the morning and in the oven after school, topped with some ready salted crisps and cheese to make it nice and crispy. I'll use up any veggies leftover from the week and put some frozen peas and sweetcorn in the pie too.

Saturday: Chorizo and cherry tomato spaghetti with crusty bread.

This is an old family favourite. Here's the recipe.

Sunday: Eating out.

We are away for the day, so will either eat out or order from Just Eat so it arrived as we get home!
