My Top 10 Christmas Picks from the Wish App (all under £10)

I'm probably a little late in the day for this Christmas picks from the wish app, BUT if you are quick and order now they could reach you in time for Christmas and if not, heck at under £10 you can put them away for next year! I know that wish can be a little bit hit and miss but I've never actually had a problem. Let me know if you have used the app and what your experience was.

The ONLY Gift Guide For Young Teen Girls (13-15) You Need This Christmas!

I’ve been looking around for gift ideas for Ellie for Christmas and...well can I be seems like LOTS of the ones I have seen are full of PR gifts and brand gifted items. Soooo...I thought I’d write my own teen girls gift guide and so I trawled loads of websites and found loads of things in a range of prices, all stuff I know Ellie, and any teen girl, would love. I’ve even put bits on here that Ellie actually owns and loves. What’s more I asked Ellie for opinions and she came over and marked all of the items out of 10 so you can be sure that girls will absolutely love your gift.

A No Food Waste Christmas. Pigs in Blankets Hot Dogs with Cranberry Salsa

One thing I am super keen to ensure this Christmas is that our food waste is cut right down. Last year UK Christmas shoppers spent, on estimate, a record £4.2bn on food and drink alone, and in 2015 it was estimated that around £64 million of that food is thrown out! I hate to think of all that food going to waste and so I have been developing some recipes that involve all those left over foods at the end of the main Christmas dinner.

On today's #nofoodwaste Christmas menu, I thought I would share a way to use up the last of those pigs in blankets, its actually a really simple, but yummy,  adaptation of a traditional hot dog, and by rustling up this quick and delicious cranberry salsa your guests will be left drooling whilst you still have all the time to spend actually with them instead of stuck in the kitchen cooking!!

Family Meal Plan #NoFoodWaste

It's no secret that the world is currently going zero waste crazy right now (and quite rightly) and whilst our house and family are so (so so so) far from being plastic free and completely zero waste in our house, one way we have started to make a change is by cutting back on the amount of food we throw away. Hands up if you cook a Sunday roast and throw the leftovers rest get left to go off and eventually get thrown in the bin, whether that be Sunday night or later in the week when you realise that you put that leftover meat in the fridge but forgot to use it?? We have all done it. All of us...but by making one small change to the way you meal plan and shop,  your food waste, and consequently, your food bill can drop dramatically. Every week I'm going to share our meal plan that shows just how I am doing this.

Then once a month over on YouTube I will share a week of family meal ideas, and a grocery haul. And then over here on the blog I will share a meal plan each week and a recipe post that will show you how to get the most from your meal plan. And if you follow us over on Instagram, I occasionally share our food in stories (when I remember!)

Cooking With Kids. One For All EASY Dough Recipe.

This is currently one of the monsters favourite things to make. Its a super easy and very versatile recipe, which you can use to make bread, pizza dough, cookies, Nutella twists, bread rolls and so many more things! Its super easy recipe for kids to make too, and I just kind of take a step back and allow the kids to get on with it, just interjecting if they need me too!

WUKA Period Wear. Bring A Whole New Meaning To 'Period Pants'

If you had told me one year ago that I would soon be looking into more eco friendly and sustainable period products, I probably would have told you to give your head a wobble! A year ago, heck even just a few months ago, period pants meant one thing, period cups sounded grim, and nothing other than a tampon was ever gonna be used by me!

Roll on to summer 2018 and, I don't know what changed in me, whether it was the likes of Mrs Meldrum, Natasha Bailie and Lulalistic Hippyshake all talking openly about period cups and periods in general, opening my eyes and moving my thoughts away from all those stereotypical thoughts abut women who use moon cups or if it was the likes of the whole plastic free/less waste movement we have all seen this year. Anyways, my whole mindset changed and whilst period cups just didn't sit well with me, I just, I don't know, the whole contraption scared me (and still does slightly, although I am thinking about just jumping in and buying one!) so I started looking around for other alternatives to tampons and sanitary pads.

That is when I came across period pants, and no I don't mean those scruffy faded pants in the bottom of your undie drawer (don't lie ladies we all have at least one pair!). I mean the all new ultra absorbent, machine-washable underwear designed to be worn throughout your period, WITHOUT the need for disposable sanitary products.

And then, around the same time as this option became apparent to me, I also saw that WUKA were looking for influencers to review. I mean it just had to be fate right?

So how did I get on? Read on too find out....
