5 Ways To Get A Bit Of 'Me Time' Right Now!

From the outside being a stay at home Mum must mean you get loads of time to luxuriate in a bit of me time...but if you are anything like me you will always say 'I have no time for me time' and the fact of the matter is, in between school runs, preparing 100 meals a day, working from home, after school clubs, housework and the keeping 4 kids and a husband (as well as yourself) alive, means that actually all you do get is a measly 10 minutes here or there. But lets face it, those 10 minutes are in fact spent doing something, usually scrolling through Facebook, reading a blog post that sounded interesting on Twitter as you wasted 5 minutes before the school run. Those 10 minutes sat in the car before the school gates open. What if I told you that you could spend those 10 minutes doing something for you? 10 minutes of 'no time' turned into something for you. 10 luxurious minutes...all...for...you! Right Now!

1. A bit of face-time before the school run...

And no I don't mean on your phone! Grab a face mask and just sit and enjoy that 10 minutes peace before, lets face it, all hell breaks loose!

Sheet Masks and charcoal peel off masks are all the rage right now as well as being quick and easy to use, great for when you have only a short time! And if you don't have one in the bathroom, head to kitchen and whip up one of these homemade mask in seconds!

2. Change your reading material...

Reading a blog post and reading a book...two very different things! There is something so much more relaxing in picking up a real life book, or magazine, instead of on a kindle or a phone. So leave your phone at home and pick up a book or a magazine to take in the car and read whilst you wait for the school gates to open.

3. Memoir's of a school run mum...

Spend 10 minutes filling in a journal (how pretty is this rose gold marble effect journal) not sure what to write or even where to start? Why not get a book like the Fearne Cotton Happy journal? They contain pages with creative prompts, words of wisdom, quotes to inspire and spaces to doodle. A perfect way to spend 10 minutes.

4. Use YouTube for a quick workout session (instead of watching cats!)...

There are so so many ways you can spend 10 minutes on YouTube, from 10 minute Yoga sessions to a 10 minute HIIT workout, make a playlist in advance then you know how will you spend your 10 minutes intead of wasting time searching for a workout suitable for you.

5. Meditate...

OK, so hear me out...

When I first heard about meditation I thought no way. But actually? I love it, its a great way for me to relax and get rid of some tension. Apps like Headspace are great for quick guided mediation. A perfect way to stop and just be before the busy after school schedule commences.
