Fruity Yoghurt Bites | Cooking With Kids

If you are looking for a recipe to cook with kids this one couldn't be easier, it uses store cupboard essentials and is loaded with dried fruit for a yummy treat perfect for any age! And whats more it cooks quickly too so little children wont have long to wait to try the fruits of their labour!



What you need:
25g butter (plus extra for greasing)
1 tbsp runny honey
1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
80g porridge oats
4/5 dried apricots
3 tbsp raisins
2 tbsp plain natural yoghurt

equipment: mixing bowl, small baking tray , teaspoon, tablespoon, knife (or scissors), scales

Start by greasing the foil tray and measuring out the butter. Add the butter to a large bowl.

Measure out the raisins and add them to the bowl. 

Use the knife or scissors to chop up the apricots into smaller pieces (think about making them raisin size!) and add them to the bowl.

Weigh out the oats and add this to the mixture, along with the hunny, the bicarbonate of soda and yoghurt.

Mix all of the ingredients together and spoon into a small baking tray. Cook in a preheated oven (gas mark 3) for approximately 15 minutes. 

Allow to cool slightly before cutting into bite size pieces, will store in an airtight container for a couple of days.
