A Christmas party outfit that can be worn 2 or 3 different ways,
A Christmas party accessory,
A secret Santa gift, for that hipster we all know, bought from a charity shop,
A Christmas jumper.
First stop on my travels was Matalan, I wanted a simple, but nice to wear jumper and so the grey slogan sweater was perfect for me! Great to team with jeans for the Christmas workshops and nativity's at school we have coming up, without the kids being all like...what the heck is my Mum wearing! I think I pull it off, right?
Next up I wanted something that I could wear on Deans works Christmas meal/night out and also wear for lunch with the girls and therefore still being suitable for the school run and general wear after the festive period...I don't know about you but I have approximately 2 nights out a year so didn't want to purchase anything that was only going to be worn once for a couple of hours!! I went with this plum colour midi dress, and teamed it with my trusty plum boots and a clutch bag (see below!) for the work Christmas party and for lunch with the girls it looked just as great with a leather jacket, black tights and boots. Then for the school parties I paired with some comfy flat boots and a long length cardigan, this will especially look great as we head into spring! (I know...its a while off just yet!)
For Christmas party accessories I went with these super cute tree earrings and a jingle bell headband..which Evie promptly claimed!
Now...the next part of the challenge is one I actually struggled with. I live in Skegness and as such I can cross my heart and tell you we are so far in the past hipsters ain't made it here yet (it probably will do eventually...you know when its no longer cool to be a hipster!) So to help the kids (and the hubby!) channel there inner hipster I grabbed them all hipster moustache's from a local charity shop's new gift selection to pop in their stockings! Whilst in the charity shop I had a rummage in the jewelry and makeup tray they had on the till (it was all new and sealed stuff!) and managed to pick up this Calvin Klein lip stain, and a matching nail polish to finish of my Christmas party looks, for just a pound! Such a bargain right!
And with that my Christmas shopping challenge was complete and I even had change to treat me and my shopping pal to lunch!
The app was so simple to use, although not every store on my local high street accepts Apple Pay so do check before you fill your baskets, all you do is hover your phone above the card reader, your phone will then display your apple wallet and ask for your Touch ID...voila in less than a few seconds payment is made and you are on your way, no more rivaling around in your handbag trying to find that pound coin you know you have somewhere! It was also a great way of sticking to a budget for Christmas, something the hubby was very happy about, as every Christmas we have arguments about my spending (oopss!!) its really easy to keep track of your spending as your total is available at a simple click of a button!
The Boon. app is available to download from the App store and is compatible with Iphone 6/SE or above.
