Bunch'ems Review

When we were asked to review Bunch'ems I was slightly dubious after reading lots of stories of them getting stuck in children's hair. But as the kids kept asking for them when they saw the adverts I thought what the heck and jumped in with a yes!

When our parcel arrived the monsters were very excited to get started with the Bunchems 'On The Go' Easel. The handy storage case -turns easel- comes with around 150 Bunch'ems and one set of eyes. They are about the size of a 10p and connect via hook and eye spindly legs. The lid of the case fits into the base to become the easel to make your designs come alive in 3D!

The base of the case is split up into handy compartments so that you don't end up with a great big Bunch'ems ball, it also came in handy for some colour recognition games for Elsie. (please note the recommended age for Bunch'ems is 4+) and once you have finished playing the lid fits on nice an tightly to ensure your bunch'ems stay where they are put!

We personally preferred using the easel flat on the floor instead of in the base as my kids are heavy handed and they just kept tipping the easel backwards!  We had lots of fun with Bunch'ems. As well as the monsters playing independently and creating fun pictures, we have also played colour matching games, counting games, we used lots of positional language and lots of colour language too, it has been a great tool in our educational journey. I'm not quite sure I would allow the monsters to play with it alone with the image of them ending up with no hair. I should also add at this point that there is a warning in the box that it could get tangled in children's hair and that children shouldn't be left unsupervised, I think in light of recent stories it would be a good time to acknowledge said warnings! In all I would definitely buy this again as a gift for my niece, and even maybe add to our collection (I wont lie we have had our fair amount of arguements over 'I want that piece!') because the kids love it so much, it is so different from any other toy we have.

Bunch'ems is available in the following packs...
