Premier Inn NEW London Aldgate Review

As you may know this weekend I was able to attend top blogging conference, Brit Mums Live, thanks to my wonderful sponsors KidRated and also to Premier Inn for kindly offering myself and Beth one of their rooms at the brand new Premier Inn London Aldgate, in fact it's so brand new....even some taxi drivers didn't know where to find it!

Situated a couple of minutes walk away from Aldgate East Station (serving the District line and the Hammersmith and City line) I personally think makes Premier Inn London Aldgate a great choice for family's and tourists seeking a budget busting hotel with easy access to the city and most attractions.

As hotels go, if you have stayed with Premier Inn before you pretty much know what to expect, the rooms and hotels are all pretty similar across their hotels. I believe it's the staff that make a chain hotel great, and all staff we came across were incredibly friendly, kind and efficient. With a smile and hello from them all.

We stayed in a spacious family room with a nice big double bed and a generous sized single bed. The beds were super comfy, but I did wish that the extra thick duvet had been a bit thinner. Perfect for winter but in the height of summer it made for an uncomfortable nights sleep (before we figured that their was air con in the room!!!!)

All rooms have a 40 inch wall mounted TV complete with FreeView so when the day is done, or indeed just getting started you should happily find something to watch whilst you relax and lay in bed with a nice cup of tea or coffee from the selection of Twinings and Kenco sachets.

Once you are ready to rise and shine the Premier Inn bathrooms are the perfect place to get ready. With a nice sized bath or shower to choose from, along with complimentary wall mounted bath/shower gel and soft white towels to wrap yourselves up in. With an extra large mirror and large sink to compliment the rest of the room.

The rooms also have clothes hanging space, although 5 hangers for a family room just doesn't cut it for me, but this seems the norm across many a hotel (which is just weird I think!) so I can't really moan about this or say I expected better as well  everyone just kind of expects a couple to be fair!)

Premier Inn Breakfast...

For just under £10 you can have the buffet breakfast option. That is an all you can eat get and as many times as you like buffet by the way not a 1 visit teeney plate kinda place!  Fill your boots with tea, coffee, juice, cereals, fruits, yoghurts, muffins, toast, crumpets, croaisants, bacon, egg, sausage, beans, tomatoes, hash browns...have I forgotten anything? If I have they still probably do it...seriously a huge choice for breakfast oh and kids at free!!!

In all I would say it's the perfect place to stay if you just literally want a no frills hotel with a bed for the night and a breakfast for kings!

A nights stay at Premier Inn Aldgate costs from £169.

Disclaimer: We received our stay, including breakfast, free in return for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

5 Ideas For...Pinterest Boards To Get You Started.

Hi my name is Becky and I'm a Pinterest Addict...

It would seem the whole world and his dog is in on Pinterest, what do you mean your not? You don't ''get it''? Its simple, you create your boards you 'pin' stuff! More often than not stuff you will never make, nor buy...but pin you will and be inspired you will! But I here you call what should I pin? Well my friends here are 5 ideas to get you started on pinterest!

Do You Remember...#1

To My Beautiful Ellie, You often say I must hate you, you often say ''you never do nice things with me'', you forget that for 7 years it was just you...you didn't have to share memories, it was just you and I. Making memories together, lots of ordinary moments that I hope one day you will look back at with fondness.  I thought I would record some of the moments here in a 'Do You Remember' feature, maybe you can read them when you think the whole world hates you...

Mozzarella and Sweetcorn Minion Baked Dippy Fritters | Cooking With Kids

Isn't it amazing the power of a character...I mean all I would have to say is Green Giant and you would all know who I mean...He alone is enough to make the monsters eat sweetcorn, but right now with the Minions gracing the tins too? Well right now there is no stopping them!

I'll be honest I have NO idea the names of the cute little yellow 'things'...I mean apparently I even say Minions wrong (Ellie always corrects me!!!) but the kids adore them! They will quite happily sit and watch Despicable Me, 1 and 2, back to back! Which is fine by me as it mean I can get lots done!  So anyway back to the post...when Tots 100 got in touch and asked us to be part of the #GreenGiantMinions challenge we, off course said yes!

As you know I try and encourage independent baking and so Ellie got thinking about the things she could make...She had a list but we eventually decided on these that she has called Mozzarella and Sweetcorn- Green Giant, of course- Baked Dippy Fritters!

What We Wore Wednesdays #3

Sorry I have somewhat slacked in the OOTD photo the last couple of weeks...we were struck with illness and I didn't think anyone would want to see a collection of grotty pj's! Anyway I have a few pics from the last few weeks to share, so here they are...

Ellie wears:

Dress: Peacocks (In Store now?)
Jacket: Primark

This was for my Mums 60's insipred Fancy dress party (we didn't do fancy dress BUT Ellie decided to wear the shortest thing in her wardrobe and got me to do a super high 6-0's inspired pony and her make up was very 60's esque too!

Ellie wears:

Playsuit (skort): Primark
Over top: Primark (In store now)
Platforms: Peacocks

Evie wears:

 Daisy Dress: Next
Cardigan: Primark
Shoes: Tesco

This outfit is clearly a bit too small for Evie now, but she loved it and wouldn't take it off!

Evie wears

Braces Skirt: Next
Spotty polo shirt: Next

We went out for the day to meet the lovely Leandra (from larabee-uk.blogspot.co.uk) and i decided we should all go a bit matchy matchy in our sailboat outfit from Next! I think they look super cute! (Hub's didn't think so and thought I might have bumped my head!!!)

#ToddlerApprovedTuesday #34

So sorry I missed last week guys (again!) and thanks (again!) to Rachael from Lukeosaurus and Me! for stepping in at the VERY last minute to cover for me! Ray...your a superstar!! I did read most of the link ups but as I say my phone is rubbish and I couldn't comment!

5 Ideas For...Indoor Water Play

As we head into the great British Summer, how many of you are planning that day out to the outdoor (and free!!!) paddling pool? We certainly are, well that is we tried last week...the weather was beautiful for around 5 days, the forecast looked good so we planned a trip to the local paddling pool, The Fairy Dell, for the weekend. We got the kids all excite for it..and then the weekend came...full of thunderstorms and a whole lotta rain. I needed to think quick, the monsters where expecting a splashy watery play kinda day...and not just jumping in puddles! So I came up with these 5 Ideas For...Indoor Water Play.

5 Ideas For...A Homemade Fathers Day!

Why does the world think all men like drinking beer and cooking on a BBQ? Its really hard to find a gift for the hubs from the monsters! He really DOESN'T want (or need) yet another mug...

Looks like homemade is the way to go!

15 Things To Do When Your An Exhausted Non New Mum.

For the last 10(ish) days I haven't slept, I have been running on empty (I would be running on coffee but it seems my post 4 kids body cant hold any liquid for longer than 5 minutes) but last night...well last night was special...last night was an all time low. Today I will be running on approximately 1.5 hours sleep...1.5 hours of broken sleep at that...

You see Evie was poorly last week so she obviously wasn't sleeping well, that I can kind of cope with. Then sometime in the last 10 days Elsie has decided she can no longer sleep though the night with out screaming. So I am pretty tired, its tough getting up to 1 waking child let alone 2.

But tonight (last night) topped it...at around 10.15 Jenson woke up screeching, first he complained of a tummy ache...that didn't hurt his tummy (of course), then he complained of a headache...that didn't hurt his head...I was confused but managed to settle him back into a slumber and headed back of to bed.

10.35...he awakes screeching again. Apparently nothing hurts, he hasn't had a bad dream and he doesn't need the toilet...his screaming has woken Ellie and so I decide to put him in bed with me. From this moment he wakes up approximately every 30 minutes whining about nothing.

And then at 1.30 Elsie decides she wants in on this game...also waking around every half an hour, just not every half hour that Jenson is awake...in effect meaning I have been up and down every 15 minutes or so. Or at least until my eyes hit that point of slumber when you are neither asleep nor are you awake...

The next part contains swearing, I apologise..I am very very tired and very cross...

And then at 4.30 this morning I lost it...I stood on the landing and screamed at the kids to just go to sleep sleep and stay asleep, I then screamed downstairs to the hubs, who had retreated to the sofa at around 11 o clock, that he was a fucking stupid b**tard..I may also have called him something along the lines of a, erm useless w*nker. Not my finest moment...but as I say I was cross at been left to do this difficult part of parenting alone.

From this moment I sat in my bed and sobbed, I sobbed for half an hour solid like an exhausted new Mummy of a newborn, before reaching for my Ipad and starting to write this post (originally called, quite simply, A Tired Mummy Rant). By the time I had finished my original rant (the post disapeared thanks to the shitness that is Blogger App on the Ipad!) it was heading to 6am, when my day would inevitably start with Evie waking up demanding breakfast and cbeebies on...which meant I was heading for Granny Murray doom...

Now this alone would be enough to piss any exhausted Mummy off, but I also had the knowledge that at some point this morning Dean would casually bring up that he was 'tired' after sleeping on the sofa all night, I knew I would have to bite my tongue.

Inevitably the tongue biting didn't happen because as I sat down to my cold coffee, after rushing around like a blue arsed fly all morning, I exploded with infuriation as he sat there with his tablet, leisurely browsing the interweb after his casual cigarette outside, and I did, as I wrote in my original post LOSE MY SHIT at him! Because if he truly was awake all night why was I the only one up with the kids? Why didn't he help me once?

This then led to me coming up with these 15 top tips for tired non-new Mum's...

5 Ideas For...Discovery Bottles.

Elsie loves playing with bottles...I mean she really loves bottles, for some strange reason they are the thing she likes to play with the most! So I have decided to (try) and make some new discovery bottles for her, because well so far I have been as adventurous to add some food colouring and that's about it!
