Toddler Friendly Tidy Up Reward Chart!

I saw a post on One Dad 3 Girls Instagram page this morning and thought it was such an ace idea that we could easily use in my house...

The idea is to encourage tidy up with a simple reward system of gaining a letter for each time they tidy without moaning! Now as you will have seen in my children's chore post tidying up is one of their jobs to do BUT that doesn't mean that I don't hear a bit OK a LOT of moaning about it every single day! When they receive all the letters they get what they spell out! In our case...a treat from their treat basket!

So I made it my task this morning to come up with some super simple reward charts using just these few items below:

First up you need to decide what your reward is going to be and chose your sticky letters accordingly...

Then you can get started...first up choose a sticker (we all chose a different sticker) and attatch to the right side of the card....

Then use the letter stickers as a stencil to spell out your word on the card (I didn't do this on Ellie's as she can spell by herself) and by a bit of letter recognition the little ones can spell out their word!

The letters and the cards have gone into a bowl on the fire place and will be filled in accordingly!

Now...fingers crossed it works!

  1. Love this idea - anything that saves me from tidying up! I think I'll be borrowing this one!

  2. Great idea. This is going to sound a bit harsh given how positive your idea is, but I sometimes get a plastic box out and set a timer for about 15 minutes. Anything that isn't tidied away when the pinger goes off goes away in the box until they earn it back. It usually works a treat! But think I'm going to add this as an added incentive and a reward for no toys ending up in the box.

  4. This is a great idea. We use a 'tidy up tune' (mission impossible) to clear-up so far it works every time.

Love the use of stickers too, great idea to draw round them as stencils! ;)
